COMMITTEE CHARGES

Associates Committee
Responsible for recruiting and serving as a liaison to Associates who support the
Associations activities.

Awards and Recognition

Key Responsibilities

  • To promote SEAHO awards and recognition opportunities throughout the SEAHO region, to coordinate review all nominations and to select the recipients to be recognized at the Annual Conference.  Promote and select fee waiver scholarship program and article submission to SEAHO Report.
 

Essential Tasks (these are potential tasks committee members will be assigned)

Submit articles from Fee Waiver Scholarship recipients about SEAHO experience to SEAHO Report Post conference-March/April
Promoting awards earlier in the year/increase awareness of awards Pre conference-November

Educational Programs Committee

Key Responsibilities

  • Solicit and select the Educational Program grant(s)
  • Create and implement the Graduate and New Professional Case Study Competition at the Annual Conference
  • Solicit and select the Scholar in Residence for the Annual Conference

Graduate Issues and Involvement Committee

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing resources, connections, and networking opportunities for graduate students in the SEAHO region
  • Providing knowledge and involvement in SEAHO
  • Encouraging graduate assistants to pursue full time employment within the region post graduation

Human Relations Committee

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage, create and promote programs which address human relation issues in the work force, in residence halls and in the college community. 
  • Ensure the Association and the annual conference are inviting of diversity responsible to human relations issues

Membership Services Committee

Key Responsibilities

  • To educate SEAHO members about the organization and how to get involved.
  • Act as a liaison between SEAHO members and SEAHO committees connecting members with involvement opportunities.
  • Encourage involvement in all areas of SEAHO.
  • Reach out to members at the annual SEAHO conference that are the only delegate from their institution (Solos).

Maintain database about membership involvement in SEAHO All year
Create orientation materials for SEAHO website to help new members learn about the organization All year
Connect Solos with other SEAHO members at the annual conference (planned activities, introductions, buddy system, etc) During conference

Nominations Committee
Responsible for soliciting candidates for all available offices and for conducting
the election process in accordance with procedures established in the
Constitution.

Placement Committee

Key Responsibilities

  • Work to connect institutions who want to advertise/interview for vacancies and candidates who are seeking positions
  • Prepare a placement center at SEAHO for the interviewers and interviewees
  • Write articles for the SEAHO Report regarding recruitment and interviewing
  • Present programs at SEAHO regarding the world of recruitment

Program Committee
Responsible for soliciting, reviewing, selecting, and scheduling the program
proposals submitted for the annual conference. The Committee also selects the
pre-conference programs, keynote speaker, and organizes the case study
competition.

Research and Information Committee

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the need for research within the Association and recommend
    appropriate mechanism for responding to these needs
  • Administer the SEAHO Research Grants program
  • Administer the evaluation of the annual SEAHO conference
